••• Since July 2009, AGEG on behalf of GTZ has been implementing at regular intervals training seminars on
Capacity WORKS
More than 70 participants have successfully been trained so far. New dates are now available (also at new locations in Hamburg and Dresden).
What is Capacity WORKS?
••• Capacity
WORKS is the German Technical Cooperation`s (GTZ) management model for sustainable development. This method supports the steering and management of international cooperation projects. All GTZ projects revolve around the objective jointly negotiated by the cooperating partners, and the sustainable results that are expected to emerge from them.
••• Capacity WORKS defines five success factors (strategy,
cooperation, steering structure, processes, learning and innovation) toward which the management of projects and programmes is systematically oriented throughout the entire process. Using key questions for each success factor, the results of the interventions in question can then be continuously monitored, reflected upon and, where appropriate, corrected. This structuring support creates greater transparency at all levels of a project at any given point in time. This means that those responsible for contract and cooperation management are able to provide detailed information on the questions concerning the success factors, while at the same time increasing their scope for action.
••• Through Capacity WORKS, solutions for international cooperation can be presented on a standardised basis, making them more comparable as good practices and facilitating individual and collective learning. In other words, the structuring and cyclic results`-based monitoring offered by Capacity WORKS raise the quality of international cooperation projects, facilitate their management and promote the professionalisation of all partners involved.

••• The introduction of Capacity WORKS as GTZ`s
management model changes the requirements for consultancies.
Training measures in Capacity WORKS are necessary for individual
consultants as well as for consulting firms in order to provide
qualified consulting services to projects already applying Capacity
WORKS. Respective training measures may only be provided by selected
multiplicators.

••• Die Einführung von Capacity WORKS als Managament Modell der GTZ verändert die Anforderungen an die Consultingwirtschaft. Schulungen in Capacity WORKS werden damit sowohl für Einzelgutachter als auch für Consultingfirmen notwendig, um mit ihren Beratungsleistungen für GTZ Projekte anschlussfähig zu bleiben. Entsprechende Trainingsmaßnahmendürfen nur durch von der GTZ ausgewählte Multiplikatoren durchgeführt werden.
