Background:
Due to lack of
professional capacities of staff, the forest sector of Malaysia is not in a
position to plan and implement sustainable management of forest resources in a
technically sound way. The project aims to establish demand-oriented education,
research and advisory capacities at the forest faculty of the University of
Malaysia UMS, Sabah, in order to support sustainable forest management in east
Malaysia.
Services Rendered:
- Project implementation, provision of long-term and
short-term experts
- Improvement of contents and structures for education and
training in forestry sciences
- Improvement of the forestry education system
- Building of research and advisory capacities for planning and implementation of
sustainable forest management
- Building of capacities for improved curriculum
development
